Tag: hydroponic tray

Hydroponic tray is a method of growing plants in which plants grow in water. With their roots exposed to air, while nutrients get into direct delivery via a liquid solution.

In hydroponics, plants grow much faster than in soil because they’re getting all their nutrients from a prepared mixture, rather than from an ecosystem.

What is a hydroponic tray?

Hydroponics is a method of growing plants in water with dissolvable nutrients. In contrast to using soil. Plants get the best support by an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel. Which lay in a water-filled container.

Nutrient levels are under good care by adding dilute nutrients. To keep them near a pH balance close to neutral. For optimal growth rates. Light is typically available at night in the form of artificial lighting or natural sunlight.

Advantages of Hydroponic Trays

  1. When you grow your plants in a hydroponic tray. There is little to no soil for pests and diseases to take hold.
  2. Because of that, hydroponically grown crops require fewer pesticides than traditionally grown produce. Something especially good for those trying to live pesticide-free.
  3. The lack of soil also means that more crops can grow in less space.
  4. Since each plant has its own self-contained system within a greenhouse. Farmers are able to grow more produce on their land.
  5. Hydroponic farming trays make it possible to grow plants at any time of year. Whereas outdoor growing may only be possible for half a year.
  6. More sunlight leads to stronger plants with bigger root systems. They are less susceptible to bugs, diseases, and pests.
  7. By growing plants in an indoor environment, they’re also safe from harsh weather conditions.
